“Won’t Spare My Attackers,” Says Chilkur Temple Priest Rangarajan
Chilkur Balaji Temple Chief Priest C.S. Rangarajan has strongly reacted to an assault incident that took place against him two months ago. Addressing a press conference at the Hyderabad Press Club, C.S. Rangarajan warned that there is no question of sparing the individuals who attacked him and announced his intention to pursue strict legal action against them.
Detailing the events, C.S. Rangarajan stated, “On February 7, a group of individuals came to my house and knocked on the doors. Since I was in the middle of a bath, wearing only a T-shirt, I informed them that I could not meet anyone at that time.” He recalled that among the group was a man dressed in black clothing who remarked, “Do you not have time to meet those working for Ram Rajya?” and commanded, “Take him into custody.” Rangarajan said that, based on the man’s tone, he initially assumed he might be a high-ranking official.
Following this, around 20 people allegedly forced their way into his house by pushing open the doors. “They dragged me by the legs and threw me down, physically assaulting me. I was deeply shocked by the incident,” said C.S. Rangarajan. He affirmed that he would not treat the incident lightly and would fight a legal battle to ensure justice. He also announced plans to file both civil and criminal defamation cases against those responsible for the attack.
Rangarajan expressed suspicion that the reason behind this attack was a court dispute related to the temple. "The matter concerning the temple is within the purview of the court. No matter how powerful the people behind this attack are, they should not act covertly like cowards hiding behind a curtain," he commented. Rangarajan challenged those making allegations against him to present their arguments in court and prove that they are right, asserting that he has not committed any wrongdoing.
