Samsung Launches Galaxy M56 5G in India with Powerful Features and Long-Term Software Support

Global electronics giant Samsung has expanded its popular Galaxy ‘M’ series by launching the all-new Galaxy M56 5G smartphone in the Indian market. Introduced as the successor to the Galaxy M55 model that gained popularity among users last year, the new device is equipped with a range of enhancements including an attractive display, improved camera, and extended software support, according to the company.

The Galaxy M56 5G features a 6.73-inch Full HD Super AMOLED Plus display. Supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, the display also incorporates Vision Booster technology for enhanced visuals. Compared to its predecessor, the new model’s screen offers higher brightness, Samsung stated.

For performance, the smartphone is powered by the robust Exynos 1480 processor and runs on One UI 7 based on Android 15. To ensure a better user experience, Samsung has promised six years of major OS updates along with security updates through 2030.

In terms of photography, the Galaxy M56 5G is equipped with a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, it houses a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The phone also includes AI-powered imaging features such as Object Eraser and Image Clipper, the company explained.

In terms of design, the phone is available in Black and Light Green colours. Measuring just 7.2mm in thickness and weighing 180 grams, Samsung claims this device is among the slimmest in its segment. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus.

The Galaxy M56 5G comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. However, Samsung clarified that the phone will not include a charging adapter in the box—only a USB Type-C cable will be provided. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC.

Samsung has priced the 8GB RAM 128GB storage variant of the Galaxy M56 5G at ₹27,999. A 256GB storage variant is also available. Sales for the new phone will begin on April 23 via leading e-commerce platform Amazon and the official Samsung India website. As a launch offer, customers using HDFC Bank cards will receive an instant discount of ₹3,000, the company announced.
