China Eases Visa Rules for Indian Tourists and Business Travellers Amid US Tensions

According to Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong, China granted visas to more than 85,000 Indian citizens between January 1 and April 9 of this year. He remarked that China is extending a warm welcome to many Indian friends and encouraged Indians to enjoy the serenity and sincerity of friendly China.
China has also implemented several changes to its visa policies to make travel between India and China more convenient. The Chinese government is extending a red-carpet welcome particularly to Indian tourists and businesspersons. China is inviting Indian visitors to explore its cultural heritage, festivals, and scenic tourist destinations.
Indian citizens who wish to travel to China are no longer required to apply online. Instead, they can directly visit a visa center to submit their application. Furthermore, those planning short-term visits are not required to provide biometric data, which helps reduce visa processing time.
Additionally, China has lowered visa fees for Indian travelers, making travel to China more affordable. The Chinese government reportedly believes that the reduced visa cost will encourage more Indians to visit the country. In contrast to earlier practices, visa processing times have also been significantly shortened.
