Vijayashanti Among Congress Candidates for Telangana MLC Elections

The Congress party has announced its candidates for the upcoming Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections in Telangana under the MLA quota. The party high command has finalized three candidates, including actress and former Member of Parliament Vijayashanti. Along with her, Addanki Dayakar and Shankar Naik have been named as the party's MLC candidates.

Of the five MLC seats set to be vacated, four are expected to go to the Congress, while one will be secured by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has also allocated the fourth seat to its ally, the Communist Party of India (CPI).

Polling for the MLA quota MLC elections is scheduled to take place on March 20, from 9 AM to 4 PM. The vote counting will commence the same day at 5 PM.
