Rowdy-Sheeter Borugadda Anil Faked Medical Certificate to Secure Bail
Borugadda Anil Kumar, a rowdy-sheeter arrested for allegedly using obscene language against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, and their family members, has been found to have misled the High Court by submitting a fake medical certificate to obtain interim bail.

Anil Kumar, who was remanded in Rajamahendravaram Jail in connection with a case registered in Anantapur, had petitioned the High Court on February 14, claiming that his mother, Padmavathi, was unwell and needed his presence. Based on this plea, the court granted interim bail from February 15 to February 28. After the bail period expired, he surrendered on February 28 evening.

However, on March 1, Anil Kumar filed another petition requesting an extension of his interim bail, asserting that he was the sole caretaker of his mother, who was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. He claimed that she required medical care for two more weeks and submitted a medical certificate purportedly issued by Dr. P.V. Raghav Sharma, Chief Cardiologist at Lalitha Super Speciality Hospital in Guntur, to support his plea.

Taking into account the arguments presented by the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) representing the police, the court permitted the authorities to verify the authenticity of the submitted medical certificate. While granting interim bail until March 11, the court warned that legal action would be taken if the document was found to be fraudulent.

Upon investigation, the police discovered that the medical certificate was fake. While it was true that Padmavathi had been treated at a Chennai hospital, records revealed that she had been discharged in February. When questioned, doctors at Lalitha Hospital denied issuing any such certificate or providing treatment to Padmavathi. Dr. P.V. Raghav Sharma gave a statement to the police confirming that no medical certificate had been issued for her.

Authorities are now considering presenting this deception before the court and are deliberating on filing an additional case against Anil Kumar. Meanwhile, police are investigating his whereabouts and activities following the revelation of the fraudulent certificate.
