Private Travels Bus Collides with Lorry in Eluru District; Three Dead, 20 Injured
A private travels bus traveling from Hyderabad to Kakinada collided with a lorry from behind, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to 20 others. The accident occurred early this morning near Chodimella in Eluru district.
The bus, reportedly speeding, lost control and crashed into a cement-laden lorry ahead of it. Three passengers died on the spot, while several others sustained severe injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to Eluru hospital for treatment. The condition of the bus driver is said to be critical. Preliminary investigations indicate that overspeeding was the cause of the accident.
Three More Killed in Another Accident in YSR District
In a separate incident, three people lost their lives in a lorry accident on the Maddimadugu Ghat Road in Chintakomma Dinne mandal of YSR district. A lorry carrying fish feed from Bengaluru to Eluru suffered brake failure at the fourth curve of the ghat road, causing it to lose control and plunge 50 feet into a valley.
The driver, Sambayya, and the cleaner died on the spot, while K. Vivekananda Reddy from Kappakuntapalle in Chakrayapet mandal succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital. The impact of the fall completely wrecked the lorry, splitting it into three parts.
