Andhra Pradesh to Distribute New QR Code-Based Ration Cards from Next Month
Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar announced that the state government will begin issuing new ration cards starting next month. He stated that these ration cards will incorporate modern technology and feature QR codes.
Minister Nadendla Manohar, along with Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Member of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, participated in several developmental programs today. As part of his visit, he inspected a rice mill near Sangam and a multipurpose storage facility (stock point) at Jenda Dibba. During his inspection of the rice mill, he inquired about various aspects of paddy procurement. At the Jenda Dibba stock point, he reviewed stock details and supply logistics with officials.
Addressing women on this occasion, Nadendla Manohar stated that the government is committed to women's welfare and empowerment. He urged women to actively participate in the state's development and welfare initiatives.
The minister reiterated that new ration cards will be distributed from next month and assured that modifications and updates to the cards will also be accommodated. He mentioned that the process would be carried out through village and ward secretariats.
Nadendla Manohar also highlighted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has fulfilled the Deepam-2 scheme promise made in the election manifesto, under which four lakh people in the district have received free gas cylinders. He further stated that the government has provided gas connections to 93.42 lakh people across the state and is prepared to distribute 1.5 crore gas connections this year.
He emphasized the importance of women being aware of and engaging in the government’s development and welfare programs. Additionally, he announced that from May onwards, high-quality fine rice will be supplied to all welfare hostels and schools under the midday meal scheme.
