Shaktikanta Das Appointed as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Second Principal Secretary
Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been appointed as the second Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The central government has issued an official order confirming his appointment.

Shaktikanta Das, a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, retired as the RBI Governor in December last year. His new appointment as Principal Secretary will remain in effect for the duration of Prime Minister Modi’s current tenure or until further orders are issued. His tenure will officially commence from the date he assumes office.

The appointment of Shaktikanta Das has been approved by the Cabinet Appointments Committee. At present, Pramod Kumar Mishra serves as the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Modi.
