Vijaya Sai Reddy Clarifies Personal Reasons Behind Resignation
Vijaya Sai Reddy announced that he will step away from active politics and clarified that he has no business interests. He highlighted his longstanding association with the Y.S. family spanning three generations, stating there have never been disputes between them, and he has never spoken against the family. He remarked that his resignation decision followed detailed deliberations and was solely aimed at allowing someone more capable to take his position for the benefit of the public and the state.
He urged the media to halt the spread of false propaganda about his resignation. Addressing rumors, he said, “I have no acquaintance with K.V. Rao beyond exchanging pleasantries if we happen to meet.”
Commenting on his resignation, Vijaya Sai Reddy noted that the political climate has significantly changed since he first entered politics. He expressed that he felt unable to serve the state and party effectively under the current circumstances, which prompted his decision. He added, “This decision has no ulterior motive other than allowing someone more effective to take my place.”
He acknowledged his inclusion as Accused No. 2 in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) case related to the Kakinada Port issue but declared his intent to deal with the matter legally. Vijaya Sai Reddy asserted, “I swear on my children that I have no involvement in the Kakinada Port affair.”
While confirming his resignation as an MP, he clarified that he has not yet resigned from the YSRCP but plans to do so soon. He disclosed his limited personal assets, which include a house in Bengaluru, one of his two houses in Vijayawada, and an apartment in Visakhapatnam. He reiterated that he owns no other properties.
