Sydney Test: Team India All Out, Australia Set a Target of 162 Runs

As part of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series, India was bowled out for 157 runs in their second innings on the third day of the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Resuming the day’s play at an overnight score of 141/6, the Indian team managed to add only 16 more runs before losing their remaining four wickets. With a slender lead of four runs from the first innings, India set a target of 162 runs for Australia to chase.

In India's second innings, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant emerged as the top scorer with a fighting knock of 61 runs. Among the other contributors, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 22 runs, while K.L. Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar each made 13, 13, 13, and 12 runs, respectively.

Scott Boland spearheaded Australia's bowling attack, delivering a remarkable performance by claiming six wickets. Captain Pat Cummins provided significant support by taking three wickets, while Webster chipped in with one wicket, helping Australia bundle out the Indian side for a modest total.

Chasing a target of 162, Australia began their innings aggressively, scoring 35 runs in just three overs without losing a wicket. At the crease, Constance was batting on 18 runs, while Usman Khawaja was at five runs, giving the hosts a strong start in their pursuit of victory.
