CMR College Declares Three-Day Holiday Amid Bathroom Video Recording Allegations
Authorities have initiated an investigation, taking seven individuals, including the hostel warden, into custody for questioning. Police have seized 12 mobile phones from the suspects and are conducting a detailed examination. Additionally, fingerprint samples of the suspects have been collected as part of the inquiry.
The incident sparked outrage among students, with many staging a protest on the college premises until late Wednesday night. Various student organizations, including ABVP, NSUI, and SFI, joined the demonstrations in solidarity with the affected students. Leaders from the BJYM also extended their support to the protests.
In response to the gravity of the allegations, the Telangana State Women’s Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the case and issued notices to the college management. Padmaja Ramanan, the Commission’s Secretary, visited the hostel to assess the situation and gather information from the students.
