Because the number of October holidays (bank holidays) is a bit high, including Dasara and Diwali festivals and other holidays and bank closings on weekends. The RBI has released the list of bank holidays as per the guidelines. The first bank holiday in October starts with Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. After that comes the festivals Durga Puja, Dasra and Diwali, along with a total of five Sundays in October.
