No industrial development in Jagan rule, TDP says on day 2 of AP Assembly

Amaravati, September 16: On the second day of the Legislative Assembly on Friday, Speaker Thammineni Seetharam took up question answer session. Telugu Desam legislators posed questions on Kadapa Steel Plant to the ruling YSRCP.

TDP deputy floor leader Atchannaidu said that the Government of India promised to set up a steel plant in Kadapa district during bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and the same was mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act. He asked why the YSRCP government is not exerting pressure on the Modi government to establish steel plant.

Atchannaidu criticised the AP government for not focusing on industrial development in the state. “Not a single new industry was set up in the last three years after YSRCP came to power. Moreover, the Jagan government is not speaking against the BJP-led NDA government over privatisation of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant,” he slammed. Meanwhile, the AP government will introduce several key bills in the House today.
