SP reveals reasons for death of IIT Hyderabad M Tech student from AP

Sangareddy, September 13: Rahul, a M Tech student, died under mysterious circumstances at hostel room on IIT Hyderabad campus on August 31. His parents cried foul over his death. Cops seized Rahul’s laptop and mobile and sent to forensic lab for examination.
 
Sangareddy SP Ramana Kumar informed the media that a suicide note found in the laptop. “Rahul committed suicide as he was in depression for not performing well in studies,” he revealed.
 
The SP further said Rahul was under impression that he will not get job once he completes M Tech. Moreover, he faced difficulty over delay in receiving monthly stipend and online education during pandemic had adversely impacted his education, Ramana stated.
 
Rahul, who hails from Nandyal town in Andhra Pradesh state, sought forgiveness of mother, father and sister for not overcoming depression and urged his sister to look after parents. He also mentioned in suicide note that the IIT authorities did not take action regarding incidents that took place in 2019.
