BJP MLA Raja Singh under house arrest after he threatens to disrupt Munawar's show

Hyderabad: Standup comedian Munawar Faruqui's comedy show is creating high tension in Telangana. It may be recalled that BJP MLA Raja Singh has already warned that Munavar’s show will be disrupted. The alert police deployed a police force at the MLA's residence in Hyderabad and he was detained in advance. The Goshamahal police revealed that the MLA was put under house arrest because he did not listen to the police appeal not to venture out of his residence.

It is learnt that the Telangana government has granted permission for Munavar’s comedy show, which is slated for Saturday. The organisers have made arrangements for the show at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hi-Tech City. But, the police have not given permission for the Munavar show so far. The police are likely to take a decision on the permission on Friday.

However, Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh announced that Munawar Faruqui's show, which was making controversial comments on a particular community, would be stopped. MLA warned that anything could happen tomorrow at the venue. He threatened to chase and beat up Munawar. The government will be responsible for whatever happens, he said. In this backdrop, police tightened security at the Madhapur DCP office.
