Loan app recovery agents from Chennai harass Minister Kakani, arrested
Nellore, July 29: Based on the complaint of Shankar, Personal Assistant (PA) to Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, the police registered a case and arrested a gang of loan app recovery agents from Chennai.
Speaking over phone, Kakani said that his PA received numerous calls from different mobile numbers in a very short time. They have asked him to pay loan instalment taken by one Ashok, the minister stated and added that he don’t know who the person is.
Kakani mentioned that police laid a trap and arrested the gang. “Cops found that they are operating from Chennai with 300 telecallers,” he revealed. The minister said that several MLAs from combined Nellore district have told him that they have been harassed by loan app recovery agents over phone.
“I was surprised when police told me that 10 senior advocates from Chennai arrived to arrange bail for the arrested gang members,” he said. Govardhan stated that he directed top police officials to take strict action against recovery agents.
