Rs 10,000 financial aid to every flood victim, Chandrababu demands AP govt

Amaravati, July 26: TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu demanded that the AP government should come to the rescue of flood victims by paying Rs 10,000 as financial assistance to each family.

In a letter written to Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma, Chandrababu sought Rs 50,000 as an immediate assistance to houses damaged due to submergence in floodwater. “The state government should construct houses free of cost in flood-affected villages,” he mentioned.

The TDP chief demanded payment of Rs 25 lakh each to kin of those who swept away in floods and Rs 1 lakh for injured. He expressed anguish that people living in flood-hit villages of six districts are facing difficulties. “They are not in a position to purchase essential commodities,” he said.

Chandrababu also sought Rs 25,000 compensation per hectare for damaged paddy crop and Rs 50,000 financial support for each acre of aqua farm destroyed due to floods. He also placed several other demands before the CS.
