Bike riders thrash RTC driver in Visakhapatnam, 8 arrested

Visakhapatnam, July 11: The police arrested eight bike riders for assaulting a RTC driver on Sunday night. Cases under IPC sections 353, 332, 148, 149 were registered against them for thrashing a government employee and damaging public property.
 
According to reports, around 50 bike riders caused public nuisance by rash riding on main streets of the city. In the CCTV visuals, they were seen performing stunts on roads.
 
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Garud Sumit Sunil said that 35 youth were identified for involving in bike riding through the video footage. “We will be arresting them soon,” he said. The cops seized bikes from the arrested. The DCP mentioned that special teams would be stationed on beach road and secluded places to nab bike riders. 
 
In the past, there were instances of bike racings between 5 to 10 youngsters in the middle of the night. However, the latest incident took place at 11: 30 pm.
