3 ASIs, 9 HCs, 10 constables transferred over graft charges in Konaseema district
Amalapuram, July 7: Within 10 days of taking charge as SP, Ch. Sudheer Kumar Reddy transferred 3 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 9 head constables and 10 constables, who are facing corruption allegations, on Wednesday evening. According to reports, they are clandestinely supporting criminals and illegal activities by working in the same police stations for years together.
A police official not willing to reveal his name said that it was for the first time in the history of combined East Godavari district such mass transfers effected. It became hot topic among police circles. In the past, Sudheer Reddy had transferred 32 cops while working as SP for Kurnool district for indulging in corruption.
The mass transfers earned appreciation to SP from netizens. They are praising the top cop for showing sincerity and his commitment towards law and order. Amalapuram, district headquarters of Konaseema, had hit headlines in the recent past after arson took place over renaming district after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
