Nellore: Security guards attend the injured lecturer in govt hospital, show cause notice to doctors

Nellore, May 12: Higher officials served show cause notice to Atmakur Government Hospital superintendent Subba Reddy and Dr. Santha for negligence in performing their duties. Two days ago, lecturer Ramakrishna sustained severe injuries in a road accident and was rushed to Atmakur Government Hospital for treatment.

Despite doctor was present in the hospital, security guards and a sweeper attended the injured lecturer. Later, Ramakrishna was shifted to a private hospital in Nellore. He succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. Family members of Ramakrishna alleged that he died as doctor at Atmakur Government Hospital failed to provide treatment to him.

Leaders of opposition parties have criticised ruling YSRCP government over the incident and made the CM responsible for lecturer’s death. The DMHO ordered a probe to know the facts about allegations levelled by opposition leaders. Based on preliminary report and considering the negligence as a very serious matter, notices were served to doctors.
