Ex-cricketer Arjuna Ranatunga visits Sri Sathya Sai Trust, seeks medicine support for Sri Lanka

Sri Sathya Sai, May 5: Former captain of Sri Lankan cricket team and former minister Arjuna Ranatunga on Wednesday arrived from Bengaluru to Prasanthi Nilayam. He visited Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and met trustees seeking medicines for children for his country.

Speaking to the media, he said that Sri Lanka is facing shortage of medicines due to worst economic crisis since independence in 1948. “Even though, it was my private visit to India but I visited Sri Sathya Sai Nilayam as I am ardent devotee of Sri Satya Saibaba for several decades,” he mentioned and added that he took blessings of Swamy.

Ranatunga has appreciated India for helping Sri Lanka in a big way. According to sources, the Sri Sathya Sai Trust has assured to supply approximately Rs. 4 crore worth of children medicines. The Sri Lankan government on Wednesday announced that financial crisis in the country will last for next two years.
