YSRCP will not hire Prashant Kishor for next Assembly elections: Sajjala

Amaravati, April 26: YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Tuesday categorically said that his party will not avail services of election strategist Prashant Kishor or his I-PAC team for the next Assembly elections. “Contract between the YSRCP and Prashant had ended with the conclusion of 2019 Assembly elections,” he stated.

His statement assumes importance in the wake of Prashant suggesting to the Congress high command to forge pre-poll alliance with the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP leaders have made it clear that their party will contest alone in the ensuing Assembly polls. They asked as to how YSRCP will enter into poll tie-up with the Congress when it has no presence at all in the state.

However, Sajjala said that they would hire services of third parties to get feedback from ground level. Former minister Perni Nani mentioned that the YSRCP will extend support to any national party which is in position to form the government at the Centre if they give in writing to accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.
