Tension at chemical industry

Eluru, April 14: Tension is prevailing at Porus Chemical factory at Akkireddy Gudem village in Eluru after the major fire accident in the factory. Villagers blocked the road by placing tree trunks.

Locals staged an agitation in front of the industry alleging that the industry is polluting air and water.

They said that they were unable to bear the stench from the industry. They demanded the authorities to shift the industry from their village.

When the villagers tried to barge into the factory, police prevented them. They removed the obstacles on the road.
