Ukraine medical students approach Supreme Court

New Delhi: Thousands of Indian students have returned from Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion. All of them were repatriated by the Central government with great difficulty. In the wake of this, medical students returning from Ukraine have recently knocked on the Supreme Court's door.

Students from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala have filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking an opportunity to study in the country, taking into account the situation in Ukraine. Divya Sunitaraj, who is the rector of the University of Ukraine for Indian students, and 50 students have approached the Supreme Court to this effect. She asked the Supreme Court to direct the Central and State governments to allow the students to complete the course in India.

Students asked the court in the petition to formulate rules when similar situations arise. They further stated in the petition to give orders to the governments to render justice to 2,000 students. Advocate Ramesh, on behalf of the students, filed the petition in the Supreme Court.
