Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes 36-Ball Century as RR Set 229-Run Target for SRH
Rajasthan Royals’ young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a batting masterclass, smashing a phenomenal 36-ball century to propel his team to a massive 228 for 6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The high-scoring encounter unfolded at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that quickly backfired. Although opener Yashasvi Jaiswal departed early for 10, Vaibhav Suryavanshi launched a relentless assault on the SRH bowling attack. He signalled his intentions instantly by hammering four consecutive sixes in the very first over.

Suryavanshi was eventually dismissed for a blistering 103 off just 37 deliveries, an innings laced with 12 massive sixes and five boundaries. Notably, his 36-ball ton is now the third-fastest century in Indian Premier League history. He found solid support from Dhruv Jurel, who scored a well-paced 51 off 35 balls. The duo forged a crucial 112-run partnership off 62 balls for the second wicket, stabilizing the innings while maintaining a staggering run rate.

In the death overs, Donovan Ferreira provided the finishing touches with a rapid 33 off 16 deliveries, pushing the final total well past the 220-run mark.

The Sunrisers' bowling lineup struggled severely under the onslaught. Shakib Hussain emerged as the most expensive bowler, conceding 62 runs in his four overs. Captain Cummins was the lone economical figure, finishing with impressive figures of 1 for 27. Sunrisers Hyderabad now face a monumental chase to secure a victory.
