Centre to Felicitate Rajinikanth and Balakrishna for 50 Years in Cinema
Veteran actors Rajinikanth and Nandamuri Balakrishna will be felicitated for their five-decade-long contributions to Indian cinema at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The Union government confirmed that the two stars will be honored during the prestigious event, which is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28.

The announcement was made by Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, during a press conference held alongside Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

"Completing 50 years in their cinematic journey is a milestone in the history of Indian cinema," Murugan stated. "They have entertained audiences for decades with their exceptional performances and popularity. To recognize their immense contribution, they will be felicitated at the closing ceremony of IFFI."

Rajinikanth began his acting career with the 1975 film Apoorva Raagangal and went on to become a global icon known for his unique style. Balakrishna has also had a distinguished career as an actor while being actively involved in social service. He remains busy with multiple projects, including the upcoming film Akhanda 2.
