Buddha Venkanna Accuses Kesineni Nani of Loan Fraud
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Buddha Venkanna has launched a scathing attack on YSRCP leader and former Member of Parliament Kesineni Nani. Amid the ongoing war of words between Kesineni Nani and his brother Kesineni Chinni, Buddha Venkanna convened a press conference and levelled serious allegations against Nani.
Buddha Venkanna claimed that Kesineni Nani was politically nurtured by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, yet continues to criticise him without trust. He alleged that even while serving as a TDP Member of Parliament, Kesineni Nani covertly supported the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Buddha Venkanna stated that during the 2019–2024 period, he, along with Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and other TDP leaders, had raised their voices against the liquor mafia. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy and his associates were involved in liquor-related corruption and that the illicit funds were being routed to the Tadepalli Palace. Despite this, he said, Kesineni Nani never uttered a word against Jagan.
He added that after the coalition government assumed power, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) initiated a probe into the liquor mafia. The SIT identified Keshireddy Rajasekhar Reddy as the key figure behind the entire operation, Buddha stated.
Now that Jagan Mohan Reddy is allegedly facing tightening scrutiny, Buddha Venkanna claimed that new dramas are being staged to divert attention. He accused the ruling party of using Kesineni Nani to lodge an Enforcement Directorate (ED) complaint against Kesineni Chinni, despite the latter having no connection to the liquor scam. He alleged that the mention of Chinni’s name was a deliberate act and warned that they would put an end to the drama orchestrated by Kesineni Nani.
Buddha Venkanna further stated that Kesineni Nani and his wife took loans amounting to ₹8.5 crore from banks to construct a luxury hotel in Vijayawada under the name “Kesineni Hotels Private Limited.” He said they had documents to support this claim and would submit the evidence to the ED for investigation. Later, the hotel company’s name was reportedly changed to “Kesineni Harika,” where Nani, Pavani, and Hema Choudary were listed as directors. Subsequently, these individuals allegedly resigned as directors and were replaced by Nani’s staff members Ramu and Hemanth, according to Buddha. He alleged that the family defaulted on the bank loan repayments.
He demanded an explanation for why salaried employees were made directors and criticised Nani for speaking about moral values despite having defaulted on significant loans. Buddha Venkanna announced his intention to write to the ED highlighting Nani’s financial irregularities and reiterated that N. Chandrababu Naidu distanced himself from Nani because such “toxic elements” do not belong in the party.
He criticised the YSRCP for launching baseless accusations without evidence and said even a ten-year-old would not believe that such a large-scale liquor scam could occur without Jagan Mohan Reddy’s knowledge. He accused Kesineni Nani of levelling false allegations solely to tarnish the TDP’s reputation, and suggested that Jagan was orchestrating these “dramas” from behind the scenes through Nani.
Buddha Venkanna warned that the full extent of Kesineni Nani’s alleged wrongdoings would soon be revealed. He said this was only the beginning, and that every fraudulent act by Nani would be brought before the public. He alleged that Nani shut down Kesineni Travels to avoid repaying loans, thereby defrauding financial institutions.
He concluded with a stern warning to Kesineni Nani: “Remember, we will not spare you. I will expose your entire record of corruption.” Buddha stated that he would submit letters and supporting evidence regarding Nani’s alleged corruption and fraud to the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and demanded action from both agencies. He urged the public to be aware of how much money Kesineni Nani had borrowed from banks and finance firms and questioned whether he had repaid even a single rupee. He concluded by branding Nani as a major fraud from “Number One to Number Ten” and called for immediate investigation by central agencies.
