Hotline Over Neutral Ground: India-Pakistan DGMO Meeting Set for May 12
A key meeting between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 12. According to official sources, this dialogue will be conducted via hotline at 12 noon, rather than at a neutral venue as initially anticipated.

The central focus of the talks will be the implementation of the recently agreed ceasefire along the border and the prevailing situation thereafter. The DGMOs are expected to discuss the continuation of the ceasefire agreement and explore measures to reduce the current tensions along the border. Both sides are also set to exchange views on steps required to restore a peaceful atmosphere in the region.

Last Saturday, at around 3:35 PM, the DGMO of Pakistan contacted the DGMO of India through the hotline. During this conversation, the Pakistani side reportedly proposed the immediate enforcement of the ceasefire agreement. Following a positive response from India, the ceasefire came into effect starting from 5 PM on the same day, according to Vikram Misri, Secretary in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

However, reports soon emerged alleging that the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire agreement within hours of its enforcement. In light of these developments, Monday's DGMO meeting is seen as especially significant.
