In a series of pre-dawn strikes named Operation Sindoor, Indian security forces targeted terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), resulting in the reported deaths of several family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar.
According to reports, the Indian Air Force launched missile attacks at 1:05 AM, striking nine terrorist camps operating under groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. These coordinated assaults were concentrated on key locations within Pakistan and PoK, with one of the significant targets being Bahawalpur in Pakistan.
Reports suggest that ten members of Masood Azhar’s family were killed in the attack on Bahawalpur. Among the deceased were Masood Azhar’s sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. The strikes reportedly caused considerable casualties within the ranks of terrorist organizations.
BBC Urdu reports that Masood Azhar himself has acknowledged the deaths, stating that ten of his family members, along with four aides, were killed in the attacks. The news has reportedly caused considerable unrest within terrorist circles.
