Jackie Chan to Receive Prestigious Award

There is little need to introduce renowned action star Jackie Chan. His numerous action films have not only achieved blockbuster success across Asia but have also made a significant impact at the Hollywood box office. Jackie Chan enjoys immense global popularity.

On August 9, Jackie Chan will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 78th Locarno Film Festival. The festival will take place from August 6 to August 16, and Jackie Chan will be felicitated during this period with the prestigious award recognising his extraordinary contributions to cinema.

Speaking on the occasion, Locarno Film Festival Artistic Director Giona A. Nazzaro said, “Whether it is as an actor, producer, director, screenwriter, action choreographer, singer, daredevil stuntman, or athlete, Jackie Chan’s talents span a remarkable range. Honouring such a multifaceted genius is an art in itself for the Locarno Film Festival.”

Last year, at the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was presented with the same award. Jackie Chan, who will now receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, is currently 71 years old. Although he no longer performs stunts as he once did, he remains active in the film industry and continues to take on roles that reflect his signature style.
