The United States has strongly condemned the recent terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. United States Vice President Vance, currently visiting India, spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi via phone on Wednesday afternoon to express deep sorrow over the heinous act.

According to information released by the Ministry of External Affairs, Vance—presently in Agra—firmly denounced the Pahalgam attack during the phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.

Reaffirming America’s solidarity with the people of India during this difficult time, Vance made it clear that the United States is fully prepared to provide all necessary cooperation and assistance in the joint fight against terrorism.

The Ministry of External Affairs also reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his gratitude for the messages of support and solidarity conveyed by both United States President Donald Trump and Vice President Vance.

Earlier, United States President Donald Trump had also reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by phone, conveying condolences over the Pahalgam attack. Denouncing the incident as one that claimed the lives of innocent civilians, Trump asserted that the United States would extend full support to India in bringing the perpetrators to justice. He emphasized that India and the United States stand united in the fight against terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in turn, conveyed to President Trump that India is determined to severely punish the individuals and forces responsible for this cowardly act, according to a statement made by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on the social platform X.
