Masooda, the Telugu Horror Sensation, Now Streaming on Amazon Prime

Many people often hesitate to watch horror thrillers, fearing the intense suspense and fright. However, for those who enjoy the adrenaline of fear, watching such films becomes a thrilling experience, especially when viewed in groups. One such Telugu horror thriller film, which previously streamed on 'Aha', has now made its debut on another OTT platform—'Amazon Prime Video'. The film is titled Masooda.
There is a common perception that only Hollywood horror films are genuinely frightening, largely due to the advanced technology employed in their production. As a result, regional films, especially Telugu horror films, are often thought to lack the same fear factor. Masooda, however, challenged that notion and left audiences stunned.
Produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka and directed by Sai Kiran, Masooda stood out for its unique approach to horror storytelling. The music composed by Prashanth Vihari played a crucial role in enhancing the eerie atmosphere of the film.
Made on a modest budget of just ₹5 crore, the film achieved significant commercial success by grossing over ₹13 crore at the box office. Unlike typical ghost films that rely heavily on showing terrifying apparitions, Masooda succeeded in instilling fear without overtly showcasing the ghost. The plot revolves around a teenage girl who becomes possessed by a spirit. The central mystery of the story explores the identity of the ghost and its underlying motive.
With its availability now extended to Amazon Prime Video, the film has the potential to reach a broader audience and continue its impact as a formidable horror experience.
