Union Min Gadkari defends TS decision to tax AP vehicles

Hyderabad, April 1, 2015:Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday defended the Telangana government's decision to tax AP vehicles entering into TS saying it is within the purview of the state government. "The decision to impose entry tax on AP vehicles entering into TS is within the jurisdiction of TRS Government. Centre can't interfere in the decision," he told reporters at a press meet here on Wednesday. Earlier, he held a meeting with TS Transport Minister Mahender Reddy on dividing APSRTC pending for the last 10 months after division of united AP. Mahender , who also addressed the press meet, once again defended the government's decision to tax AP vehicles entering into the state. "The decision to tax AP vehicles is as per rules. Actually, it should have come long back but the decision has been delayed because of the AP officials' stance," Mahender Reddy remarked.
