Unable to Bear Harassment by Wife, Techie Dies by Suicide

A 40-year-old tech professional, Prashant Nair, died by suicide on Sunday at his residence in Bengaluru, reportedly due to marital discord. Police suspect ongoing domestic issues may have led to the incident.
Prashant Nair was employed as a Senior Sales and Marketing Manager at Lenovo, while his wife, Pooja Nair, has been working at Dell for the past 12 years. The couple lived in Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru, and had an eight-year-old daughter.
According to police, Prashant Nair and Pooja Nair frequently had arguments, and there were indications that they were considering divorce. Allegations have surfaced that Pooja Nair was mentally harassing her husband.
On Sunday, Prashant Nair’s father repeatedly tried to contact him by phone but received no response. Concerned, he visited Prashant Nair’s flat and found him hanging from a ceiling fan. No suicide note was found at the scene. A case has been registered at Soladevanahalli Police Station, and an investigation into the harassment allegations is underway.
This case comes just months after another high-profile suicide incident in Bengaluru. In January this year, Atul Subhash, a tech professional from Uttar Pradesh, died by suicide and left behind a 24-page suicide note along with a one-and-a-half-hour video. In both, he detailed the alleged harassment he faced from his wife and mother-in-law. He also claimed that false cases of domestic violence and dowry harassment had been filed against him.
