Alka Yagnik Reacts to Reports That Bin Laden Loved Her Songs
In 2011, the United States' CIA conducted a raid on Bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where he was killed. During the search, authorities discovered several recordings of Bollywood songs, including those sung by Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, and Kumar Sanu.
Addressing the revelation that her songs were found in Bin Laden’s den, Yagnik remarked in the interview, “How is it my fault if he was my fan?” She further speculated that even a hardened terrorist like Bin Laden might have had an artistic side. “Whatever the case, it’s nice to know that he liked my songs,” she added.
One of the tracks found in his hideout was “Ajnabi Mujhko Itna Bata” from the 1998 film Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, starring Ajay Devgn and Kajol.
The resurfaced video has sparked varied reactions on social media. Some users humorously commented, “Alkaji, your fans can be quite dangerous,” while others praised her singing talent, saying they had never heard a better singer than her.
Alka Yagnik is a celebrated Bollywood playback singer, having won two National Film Awards for songs like “Ghoonghat Ki Aad Se” from Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” from the film of the same name.
