The high-profile India-Pakistan match in the Champions Trophy, held in Dubai on Sunday, has set a new record for viewership, securing the number one position in terms of audience engagement. The match, streamed on JioCinema, amassed an unprecedented 60.2 crore (602 million) views, making it the most-watched cricket game ever.

At the start of Pakistan’s innings, the match had 6.8 crore (68 million) viewers, which surged to 32.1 crore (321 million) by the final over of their batting. During the innings break, the viewership further increased to 32.2 crore (322 million).

As India began their chase, the match had 33.8 crore (338 million) views, and by the time Virat Kohli secured victory with a century, the number had skyrocketed to 60.2 crore (602 million), setting a new record. Cricket analysts have noted that no other match in history has garnered such a massive viewership.

Previously, the highest viewership for a cricket match on Disney Hotstar was 3.5 crore (35 million) during the India-Pakistan clash in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. Before that, the maximum audience recorded for an India-Pakistan game was 2.8 crore (28 million) during the Asia Cup.

Virat Kohli played a pivotal role in India’s victory, scoring an unbeaten century (100*), earning accolades for his match-winning performance. With this milestone, he has added several records to his illustrious career.
