Indian Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa emerged victorious in the Tata Steel Chess Masters after defeating newly crowned world championship winner Dommaraju Gukesh in a tiebreaker.
Both Praggnanandhaa and Gukesh had lost their final 13th-round games, with Praggnanandhaa suffering a defeat against Vincent Keymer and Gukesh losing to Arjun Erigaisi. As a result, they were tied at 8.5 points each at the top of the standings, leading to a tiebreaker match for the title.
In the decisive playoff, Praggnanandhaa triumphed over Gukesh, securing the Tata Steel Chess Masters championship.
