Union Budget 2025: Good News for SC, ST Women

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Union Budget 2025, announcing a significant initiative for women belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). As part of the budget, the central government has introduced a term loan scheme specifically for SC and ST women. Under this scheme, loans of up to ₹2 crore will be provided over the next five years.

Nirmala Sitharaman stated that this initiative aims to benefit a total of five lakh SC and ST women. The scheme is designed to support women who wish to start their own businesses or expand existing enterprises. Additionally, the Finance Minister emphasized that this program would create employment and livelihood opportunities for women across the country, particularly those from SC and ST communities.
