13 Kilometers in 13 Minutes: Hyderabad Metro Facilitates Heart Transport for Transplant Surgery

Hyderabad Metro played a crucial role in a life-saving heart transplant procedure by providing a swift and efficient "green corridor." The heart, donated by a selfless individual, was transported from Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar to Gleneagles Global Hospital in Lakdikapul, covering approximately 13 kilometers in just 13 minutes. This extraordinary feat was achieved by bypassing 13 metro stations along the route.

On Friday night at 9:30 PM, the heart was transported via a specially arranged metro train. The seamless planning, coordination, and efficiency ensured the successful completion of the heart transplant surgery. Officials highlighted that the decision to use the metro was made to avoid delays caused by Hyderabad's notoriously congested traffic.
