Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu has made a significant announcement ahead of the New Year celebrations. He has requested that no one visit him personally to convey New Year wishes. This decision was made as a mark of respect following the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

As a tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh, the central government has declared seven days of national mourning. In this context, Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu decided that hosting or participating in celebratory events during this period would be inappropriate. Consequently, he urged individuals to refrain from visiting him on January 1 for New Year wishes.
