AP Government Greenlights 20 Infrastructure Projects in Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved several key development projects in the state capital, Amaravati, marking a renewed push for infrastructure development under the coalition government. Official orders have been issued sanctioning 20 civil works worth ₹11,467 crore, overseen by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

The projects will be financed through loans from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), with the Central Government’s support. The approved works include constructing bungalows for ministers, elected representatives, IAS officers, and judges, along with housing for government employees, secretariat towers, and other essential infrastructure.

Additionally, funds have been allocated for widening Kondaveeti Vagu and Palavagu canals in the capital region. The government sanctioned ₹1,585 crore for building reservoirs at Sakhamuru and Neerukonda. Another ₹984 crore has been set aside for the construction of Happy Nest apartment complexes.

The approved works also include floodwater canals, drainage systems, water supply networks, sewer systems, utility ducts, walking tracks, and cycling paths to enhance urban infrastructure in the capital region.
