Shah Rukh Khan Tops Celebrity Taxpayer List for 2024

For the 2023-24 fiscal year, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the highest taxpayer among celebrities in India. Known for blockbuster hits like Pathaan and Jawan, which grossed over ₹1,000 crore each, Khan paid ₹92 crore in taxes.

Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay secured the second spot, following the massive success of his film described as the "Greatest of All Time," which earned over ₹600 crore. Vijay paid ₹80 crore in taxes. Bollywood’s "Bhaijaan" Salman Khan contributed ₹75 crore.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan ranked fourth with ₹71 crore, while cricket icon Virat Kohli paid ₹66 crore. Among female celebrities, Kareena Kapoor topped the list, paying ₹10 crore.

The data was revealed by Fortune India based on advance tax payments made by these stars.
