Pawan Kalyan to contest from Pithapuram constituency

Pawan Kalyan to contest from Pithapuram constituency

Amaravati: The suspense over which constituency Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan would contest from in the upcoming Assembly elections has finally been lifted. On Thursday, he personally announced his intention to contest from the Pithapuram constituency. He clarified that he has no plans to contest for a MP position and is interested in contesting as an MLA. This announcement was officially made during a Jana Sena social media meeting. Pawan Kalyan revealed that he was asked to contest from Pithapuram right after the party was established in 2014.

He mentioned receiving requests to contest from both Telangana and Pithapuram, but he could not consider Pithapuram at that time, thinking of the state's needs. He frankly admitted that he never thought about elections before and had planned to stand from the Anantapur Urban constituency, which is why he initiated the party office from there in 2014. It is well-known that Jana Sena contested in the previous elections from the Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka constituencies.
