AP 2024 elections is a Class war not a Caste war: Vijayasai Reddy

Amaravati: As elections approach in Andhra Pradesh (AP), political leaders are sharpening their rhetoric. Vijayasai Reddy, a member of the Rajya Sabha from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), stated that the upcoming elections in AP are not a battle between castes, but rather a struggle between classes.

He described the elections as a battle between those wealthy individuals who want power to remain centralized and those like Chief Minister Jagan, who advocate for the decentralization of development. Vijayasai Reddy characterized the situation as a war between landlords striving for power and Chief Minister Jagan, who aims for comprehensive state development and believes in supporting the poor until they achieve their dreams.

Vijayasai Reddy is known to be contesting from the Nellore parliamentary constituency. The Nellore Lok Sabha constituency comprises Nellore City, Nellore Rural, Udayagiri, Kovur, Atmakur, Kavali, and Kandukur assembly segments.

He has been actively preparing for the elections by meeting with sitting MLAs from these constituencies. However, leaders from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), like Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, assert that Vijayasai Reddy is set to lose by a margin of 300,000 votes in Nellore.
