Pawan Kalyan Supports BC Declaration, Pledges Restoration of Rights Under Janasena-TDP Alliance

Following the release of the BC Declaration in a BC rally at Mangalagiri, in collaboration with Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan addressed the attendees, welcoming the declaration wholeheartedly. He expressed his desire for the all-round development of the BC community and assured that the Janasena-TDP alliance would work towards the implementation of the declaration once in power.

Pawan Kalyan criticized the YSRCP government for failing to fulfill its promises made to the BC community, including the allocation of ₹15,000 crores annually, amounting to a total of ₹75,000 crores over five years, which never materialized. He highlighted the reduction of recognized BC corporations from 153 to 139, eventually leaving only 53, many of which lack proper infrastructure and budget allocations. He also mentioned the failure in implementing the permanent BC Commission and allocating a third of the budget to the BC community as promised.

The Janasena leader emphasized the importance of BCs not blindly supporting YSRCP leaders, as it would betray their caste and the need for special protection laws for BCs under YSRCP's governance. He shared his affinity for Ram Manohar Lohia's principles and his desire for the empowerment and harmonious coexistence of BC communities with other castes, aiming for their elevation from a state of asking to ruling.

He stressed the cultural and traditional backbone BC communities provide to India, arguing that without them, the essence of India's heritage would be lost. Pawan Kalyan advocated for integrating BC professionals in temple rituals and handicrafts to ensure their economic well-being.

Focusing on the Vaddera community, he lamented their current struggles in quarry blasting and mining, contrasting with their significant contributions during the British era in constructing dams and railways. He committed to ensuring economic empowerment and rightful claims to quarries for the Vaddera community under the prospective Janasena-TDP government.

Pawan Kalyan also highlighted the dire conditions of BC communities engaged in traditional occupations and the need for alternative livelihoods. He specifically mentioned the plight of fisherfolk communities along the 794-kilometer coastline, including the adverse effects of the Gangavaram port development on their lives, and the failure to provide alternatives.

He concluded by acknowledging the role of N.T. Rama Rao in supporting backward castes and criticized the reduction of BC representation in local bodies under YSRCP's rule, promising restoration and support for BC reservations in legislative assemblies with the BC Declaration.
