Supreme Court Postpones Chandrababu Naidu Bail Cancellation Hearing to February 26

Supreme Court Postpones Chandrababu Naidu Bail Cancellation Hearing to February 26

The Andhra Pradesh government has approached the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of bail granted to TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu in a skill development case. However, the hearing on this petition has been postponed again.

The postponement came after Siddharth Luthra, representing Chandrababu's legal team, requested a delay in the hearing due to the unavailability of senior advocate Harish Salve. They asked for a three-week extension.

Responding to this, the lawyer for the Andhra Pradesh CID, Ranjit Kumar, criticized the request for a delay, pointing out that this tactic had been used previously to stall the proceedings. Since a counter had already been filed on behalf of Chandrababu, Ranjit Kumar urged the Supreme Court to schedule the next hearing as soon as possible.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the bench of Justice Pankaj Mittal and Justice Bela M Trivedi decided to postpone the next hearing to February 26. Initially, the court had intended to list the next hearing two weeks later but settled on the date following the request from the Andhra Pradesh CID's lawyer.
