KCR wants to sell all Govt buildings in Hyd to fetch Rs. 10K Cr
Hyderabad, Feb 2, 2015: The Telangana Government has decided to sell more Government lands and buildings in Hyderabad and other districts through auction to fetch funds about Rs.10,000 Cr for implementing the schemes of water grid , two-bed room houses for the poor and 3-acre lands for the Dalits. According to reports, parts of the funds will also be utilised for constructing integrated office complexes in all the districts to locate all offices at a single campus. The KCR government has already identified prime Government buildings on several main roads in Hyderabad and in areas of RR district for the purpose. In districts, Collectors have been asked to identify the salable lands and buildings. Apart from the Secretariat, several government offices located at Basheerbagh, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, Himayatnagar, Barkatpura, Erramanjil, Masabtank, Banjara Hills, Abids, Lakdi Ka pool and SR Nagar in Hyderabad are to be sold out along with prestigious guest houses like Lakeview, Dilkusha, Manjeera and Greenlands to fetch the intended revenues. In lieu of these office complexes and guest houses, Government will construct guest houses in the unutilised campus of University of Hyderabad and state level office blocks at a single campus at Erragadda. The Lakeview Guest House, presently the camp office of the AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, may lead to a controversy when it is put to auction.
