Data theft: Life term in jail if Chandrababu does not seek court relief, says Roja

Amaravati, September 20: Responding to interim report submitted by the House Committee in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday over data theft from the State Data Centre belonging to the Andhra Pradesh government during the previous TDP regime, Minister Roja Selvamani alleged that the Telugu Desam government handed over sensitive information of people to the TDP leaders through Seva Mitra app.

Talking to reporters at Assembly media point here, Roja said that TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be jail forever if he does not approach the High Court for stay. Referring to Chandrababu, Roja stated, “Data thief is more dangerous than Dera
Baba.”

The minister recalled that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had confirmed that Chandrababu had purchased Pegasus spyware. “Naidu made an attempt to tap mobiles of YSRCP MLAs and MPs to blackmail them for his political advantage,” she alleged and flayed TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh for trying to politicise Anna Canteens.
