Election code violation case: Actor Mohan Babu, his sons get relief from HC

Hyderabad, September 19: Senior Tollywood actor Mohan Babu and his sons Manchu Vishnu, president of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), and Manchu Manoj got relief from the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday in a case filed against them for violation of model code of conduct. 
 
Mohan Babu family staged a dharna on Tirupati-Madanapalle national highway for not clearing pending fee reimbursement amount to Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions on March 22, 2019. Chandragiri police booked cases against Mohan Babu, Vishnu, Manoj, Administrative Officer Tulasi Naidu and PRO Satish under various sections for election code violation and not taking permission to organise a protest. 
 
On June 28 this year, Mohan Babu along with his sons appeared before the Tirupati court in the same case. Hearing was adjourned to September 30. Meanwhile, he filed a petition in the High Court to quash case registered against them. The HC granted interim stay on lower court hearing for eight weeks and issued notices to defendants.
