Telugu woman gets rare award in UK

Guntur, May 26: Himavalli Chalikonda from Andhra Pradesh bagged rare award in UK. She lives in Kent region of UK.
 
She received the prestigious Inspiring Indian Women Global Award of IIW Shee Inspire award – 2022 under community spirit wing at UK House of Parliament on May 23.
 
Over 150 nominations from 25 countries around the world were submitted for the award and Himavalli got the award based on talent. This award will be presented to those, who are working tirelessly for several years.
 
Himavalli stood third in the final round.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Himavalli said that she has established a community in 2006 through social media for Telugu people coming from India to UK and has been extending all types of help to them.
 
At present, there are 9,000 members in the community. She said that the group was formed to extend financial help to students of poor background, financial aid to the poor in India affected due to floods and also to help single women.
